Child safety is the top priority at any KiDZSPOT centre from open to close. We are proud of our excellent safety record that comes from years of putting the safety of our children before everything else.
We have a robust child safety scheme in places that was developed on the basis of the 10 Child Safe Standards.(https://ocg.nsw.gov.au/child-safe-scheme/what-are-child-safe-standards) From staff management to the physical environment, the Child Safe Scheme outlines specific practices we employ to ensure our children remain safe while they are in our care; that our staff have the skills and knowledge to detect signs of harm or abuse, and that they know where and how to report any concerns.

Absolutely. Education shouldn’t start at school because learning doesn’t start at school. There are many reasons that are supported by research to explain why children should engage in a professional learning environment before the age of 5.
Here are just some of them:
• We know that children start to learn before they are born. At an early learning centre, your child is exposed to diverse learning experiences that they would not be able to experience at home.
• Early childhood centres provide a strong foundation for social and emotional skill development as children learn by interacting with other children.
• Early childhood education prepares children for school. It teaches them core academic skills, such as literacy and numeracy.
• Early childhood education is comprehensive; it covers all key aspects of a child’s growth, including physical, motor skill, language, social and cognitive development.
• And, by doing so, it gives all children equal opportunity to succeed at school and the years that follow.
Childcare centres are messy, active, dynamic places with plenty going on all the time. There are a few must-haves that every child needs to bring every day so they're well equipped for a day of action.
The musts for every child:
• a bag that is suitable for childcare/pre-school
• a sun safe hat which covers the face, neck and ears
• a few changes of clothes with underwear, socks, pants and a top
• a fitted cot sheet and blanket for nap time (so the children don't have to share their bedding)
• a drink bottle (children take their bottles home every day for a good wash and refill)
If your child needs it:
• 2 bibs
• a comfort item, such as a toy
• a dummy
• any medication your child needs (medications are managed in line with our policies and procedures to ensure your child’s utmost health and safety)

The first few weeks are very important. They're important for you, your child and for us because we will all be getting to know each other. Some children adapt to a new environment quite quickly while others need a bit more time - each child is different because each family environment is different so the first few weeks is mostly about understanding each other and working together to help your child settle in as quickly and as happily as possible.
Your centre's educators will work with the family to ensure your child feels comfortable and safe in their new environment, they will focus on minimising stress and separation anxiety, they will introduce your child to new routines as they work on building bonds for a long lasting trusting relationship between your child and the centre.
We will work together to make the transition as smooth as possible for all of us.
