Absolutely. Education shouldn’t start at school because learning doesn’t start at school. There are many reasons that are supported by research to explain why children should engage in a professional learning environment before the age of 5. Here are just some of them: • ​We know that children start to learn before they are born. At an early learning centre, your child is exposed to diverse learning experiences that they would not be able to experience at home. • Early childhood centres provide a strong foundation for social and emotional skill development as children learn by interacting with other children. • Early childhood education prepares children for school. It teaches them core academic skills, such as literacy and numeracy. • Early childhood education is comprehensive; it covers all key aspects of a child’s growth, including physical, motor skill, language, social and cognitive development. The right childcare gives children the best start to school and helps lay the foundation for a lifetime of learning and development.

Childcare centres are messy and vibrant places with plenty of activity from open to close. To keep children safe and comfortable throughout the day, we ask parents to make sure their child brings with them: • a suitable backpack for your child's age and size • a sun safe hat that covers their face, neck and ears (we have spares in case you forget) • at least one change of clothes; including clean underwear, socks, pants and a top • a drink bottle (children take their bottles home every day for a good wash and refill), and • at the start of each week, we ask parents to bring a clean fitted cot sheet and blanket for nap time (for health and hygiene reasons, our children only sleep in their own bedding)​ • and, if your child needs it, bring along a comfort toy and/or a dummy.

Yes, we provide 5 nutritious meals a day and we offer alternatives for children with dietary requirements. Our meals are prepared by Kids Gourmet Food and delivered fresh to each centre every day. ​Kids Gourmet Food have qualified chefs who prepare meals created by childhood nutritionists and dieticians. Menus are designed for all age groups, including puree menus for babies as young as 4 months old. The menus are balanced and rotate every 6 weeks so children get to experience variety and diversity. The first few weeks focuses on comfort and securing a sense of safety as we start to build a bond with your child. We need to work together to make the transition as smooth as possible for everyone. Your centre's educators will work with you to ensure your child feels comfortable and safe in their new environment as they slowly introduce them to their new routines and friends. Parents can support the transition by visiting the centre, establishing similar routines at home, and involving your child in choosing comfort items for their bag.
