The Childcare Subsidy
How it works
Reduce Your Gap Fees
To support you cover the costs of childcare, we offer flexible options where you can choose the hours that best suit your needs. With flexible options, you can increase your access to subsidised hours, and you are not restricted to start and finish times.
Choose a 9-hr, 10-hr or full day option and make the most of the Child Care Subsidy.
What is the 3 Day Guarantee?
From January 2026, the Australian Government introduced the 3 Day Guarantee which allows every family who is eligible for CCS to receive a minimum of 72 hours of subsidised care every fortnight.
It is a fantastic initiative that gives all children an opportunity to benefit from early education without the need for families to meet work or study requirements.
The 3 Day Guarantee is the minimum, but your family may be entitled to more hours. Your hours are based on recognised participation, and if you have a partner, the lower of your two levels applies.
Every each child is entitled to at least 72 hours per fortnight for families who are eligible for the the Childcare Subsidy
Your CCS percentage does not change – you’ll still pay a gap fee based on your subsidy rate
The 3 Day Guarantee is the minimum entitlement. Some families may be entitled to more based on their Recognised Participation levels.

Eligibility
To be eligible for the childcare subsidy, parents must:
-
care for a child who is 13 years old or younger for at least 2 nights per fortnight or have 14% share of care
-
be responsible for paying childcare fees at an approved childcare service

Fee Relief
Under the Start Strong Long Day Care Program, the NSW Government provides financial support for families with children in preschool. It is a fantastic initiative to increase attendance of pre-school aged children in early learning as their school readiness program is accelerated. It is also crucial in ensuring less advantaged children receive the same the same opportunities when getting ready for kindergarten.
If your child turns 4 years on or before 31 July, you will eligible to receive fee relief. Fee relief is not means tested. It is in addition to your Child Care Subsidy payment. Parents don't need to do anything; fee relief is passed on automatically as a weekly reduction to gap fees after the Child Care Subsidy has been applied.
