About our Centre
KiDZSPOT Dilga is a niche nursery service for babies and toddlers only.
The Centre is specifically designed to care for our tiniest and youngest children. Our babies and toddlers do not get lost in the activity of the older children because, from the educators to the program, the resources and equipment, everything in the service is dedicated to their age group.
It will give every parent with a new-born or new toddler peace of mind knowing your baby is in a cosy, home-like environment.

My name is Justine and I am the Director of KiDZSPOT Dilga and Lima in Erskine Park.
I began my journey in childcare in 2008, and went on to complete my Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education in 2015. During my career in childcare, I have worked across all age groups, spending most of my time with the preschoolers aged 3-5 years.
My main aim is to provide a caring and loving educational experience for all children making sure each child feels a sense of belonging when in our environment. Having a child start school is a huge milestone not only for the child but also their families - I believe it is our job, as Early Childhood Educators, to help shape and teach all children working in collaboration with families.
Our School Readiness Program is comprehensive and allows educators to teach children core foundational skills from literacy, numeracy and concepts to self-help skills. This gives children and families the information and knowledge making sure each child has the best support possible giving them the best head start in their schooling.
I am very passionate about my job as an Early Childhood Educator and love supporting, teaching and guiding each and every child along their journey in the first few years.
Hello! I’m Isabelle Desmond, the Centre Manager at KiDZSPOT Dilga and Lima in Erskine Park.
I knew that Early Childhood Education was exactly what I wanted to do from a very young age. I’ve always had a strong connection with young children so I couldn’t imagine a better way to turn my passion into a career.
The first 5 years of a child’s life are crucial in building the foundation for their future. I love being able to watch children grow and develop knowing that my work will have an immense impact on the people they will grow into mentally, emotionally and physically. I couldn’t imagine a more fulfilling vocation.
As an experienced Educator, my focus has always been to support and enlighten young impressionable minds. I am a strong believer that each child learns at their own pace and that we must adapt our learning strategies to match each child’s individual needs.
At KiDZSPOT Dilga, our focus is to build on play-based learning programs that appeal to a child’s natural curiosity and their need to engage in experiences as they make sense of the world around them.

Babies are born ready to learn. We know that learning starts before a child is born so by the time they come childcare, their learning processes are already underway.
We also know that babies and young children learn best when they have warm, engaging and responsive relationships with carers so our job is to make sure that we create stimulating and engaging environments to keep babies learning so they can develop key milestone stages of early growth.
MiNi Spotz
2 - 3 years
During a child's toddler years, their emotional, social, physical and cognitive skills take a giant leap forward.
Language is developed, toddlers start to speak with 2 - 3 words and work their way up to short sentences. Thinking is developed as they start to understand concepts like time and opposites. Social skills come into focus as the toddler starts to enjoy playing with others and their sense of independence starts to blossom. It's a time of energy, movement and curiosity.
Our MiNi SPOTZ program is about inspiration, discovery and preparation to give toddlers a solid foundation before moving into the pre-school stage.
KiDZSPOT Erskine Park
One service, two niche centres
KiDZSPOT in Erskine Park is operated as one business in two niche centres.
For most of our children, their journey starts at our Dilga Centre, which is for babies and junior toddlers only. It is so easy for babies to get lost among the hustle and bustle of older children so, at KiDZSPOT, we created Dilga, a niche service specifically for our youngest and most dependent. Everything in the service, from the staff to furniture to toys & resources...everything is designed to work around the demands of our tiniest children.
When our Dilga children reach the age of 3, we transition them to KiDZSPOT Lima, where they start the School Readiness program. The two centres in Erskine Park work very closely together on programs and services to ensure a strong continuum of learning as children move from Dilga to Lima.
Moving to Lima is almost like a practice run before the big move to school. The transition is easy and smooth; we take care of everything to ensure the children feel the excitement of ‘moving up’ to pre-school. We hold a parent information night and we organise an excursion to the Lima centre in time to give the children the opportunity to see their new KiDZSPOT.

A typical day at Dilga
Generally, our centres follow a structured, daily routine to keep activities and tasks running to a schedule.
At our Dilga centre, though, things run a little differently because a typical day depends on each child! Because Dilga is a niche baby and junior toddler centre, the daily routine is customised to individual children. Each child has their own routine that is in sync with their routine at home. The focus of the centre is the connection to family and home life so the children experience as much consistency as possible between the Centre and home.
When we say our babies and youngest toddlers receive the attention they need, we mean it.
The first few weeks at Dilga
The first few weeks are very important for children, parents as well as the Centre.
We ask all our new parents to give it some time to get to know each other so, together, we can create a sense of familiarity and trust.
Some children adapt to a new environment quite quickly; others need more time. There is no right or wrong timing; a child's age is important as well as their personality, their home life, and whether it's their first time in care or if they have moved from another centre. Because almost all our new children at Dilga are babies (and thus around the same age) and they usually start at around the same time, the Centre tends to go through a targeted period of transitioning where the main focus for several weeks is one thing: settling in our new bubs!
The first day is particularly important. We know it can be hard to walk away from your baby on that first day but we do encourage parents to be prepared for a quick drop off so we can start the bonding process with your child and relieve the stress and anguish that can often be caused when a parent finds it difficult to leave.
After the first day, during those first few weeks, we invite new parents to join us for a Stay & Play day at Dilga so you can spend some time with your child as you both become acquainted to the new environment.
It's all a part of managing a smooth transition.
Food & nutrition at Dilga
Our Service provides up to 5 meals a day from breakfast to late afternoon snacks.
All meals are professionally prepared by Kids Gourmet Food, who are experts in kids nutrition, and delivered to our Centres fresh every day.
The menus cater for vegetarians as well as cultural-based requirements and they rotate regularly so the kids get to try a variety of healthy and fun food options.
For babies aged 4 to 12 months, the menu rotates every 3 weeks
and includes 2 x meat & vegetable-based fresh purees and 2 x fruit-based fresh purees. And we only provide milk, we don't do formulas.
All our Centres are nut and egg free zones.
